Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 July 2026
This policy explains what data this personal portfolio site (anirudhchugh.com) collects, why, and the choices you have — including how to manage cookies at any time.
In short: essential cookies always run so the site works. Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) and embedded YouTube videos only run after you say yes — you can change your mind any time using Cookie Settings in the footer of any page.
1. Who is responsible for your data
This website is operated by Anirudh Chugh, an individual based in Ireland, as a personal digital marketing portfolio. For any privacy question or request, contact:
2. What data is collected
Contact form. If you use the contact form, the name, email address, subject and message you enter are sent so I can reply to you. That's the only purpose — your details are never sold, shared with third parties for marketing, or added to a mailing list.
Analytics (optional, off by default). If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 (loaded through Google Tag Manager) collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location (country/city level), device and browser type, and referring site — used only to understand how the site is used and improve it.
Embedded video (optional, off by default). Where a case study includes a video walkthrough, the video is shown as a click-to-load placeholder. Nothing loads from YouTube until you click play or turn on "Embedded media" in Cookie Settings — at which point YouTube's own privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com) may set cookies according to Google's policies.
3. Cookie categories used on this site
Stores your cookie choice itself (so we don't ask again every visit) and basic site functionality. No consent is required for these under GDPR/ePrivacy as they are strictly necessary.
Google Analytics 4, delivered via Google Tag Manager (container GTM-PRRJKQC6). Only fires after you click "Accept analytics" or enable it in Cookie Settings.
YouTube video embeds. Videos stay as a click-to-load placeholder until you press play or enable this category in Cookie Settings.
4. Legal basis for processing
Essential cookies are processed on the basis of legitimate interest in operating the site. Analytics and embedded-media cookies are processed only on the basis of your consent, which you give (or withhold) via the cookie banner or Cookie Settings, and which you can withdraw at any time with the same effect as if it had never been given. Contact form submissions are processed on the basis of your consent to be contacted, given by submitting the form.
5. Third-party services used
- Google Tag Manager & Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) — optional analytics, gated by consent.
- YouTube (Google Ireland Limited) — optional embedded video, gated by consent or click-to-load.
- Contact form delivery (e.g. Formspree, or your email provider if the form opens a mailto: link) — used solely to deliver messages you choose to send.
6. How long data is kept
Your cookie preference is stored in your browser for up to 180 days, after which you'll be asked again. Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to respond to your enquiry. Analytics data (if you consent) is retained under Google Analytics 4's standard retention settings.
7. Your rights under GDPR
As this site is based in Ireland, EU/EEA and UK visitors have the right to: access the data held about you, correct it, request its deletion, restrict or object to processing, and data portability. You can withdraw cookie consent at any time via Cookie Settings, with no effect on the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, email anirudh@anirudhchugh.com. If you believe your data has been mishandled, you may lodge a complaint with Ireland's Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
Change or withdraw your analytics / embedded-media consent at any time.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated occasionally to reflect changes in the tools used on this site. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the latest version.
